I grew up amongst farmland and rolling hills in a small Washington town. My care as a doula is an extension of everything I’ve lived and learned. From being born to teen parents, caring for my siblings, graduating as a first gen college student, getting a big corporate job, being diagnosed with PMDD, and traumatic doctor’s visits for abnormal cervical cells. To getting laid off, following my true calling and healing my hormones through nourishment and nervous system regulation. My journey has included 300-hour yoga teacher training, wholistic private chef work, Ayurvedic studies, breathwork, sound healing, and my Holy Fire III Reiki certification. Each path has deepened my understanding of the body, the nervous system, and what it means to feel safe, supported, and connected within ourselves. Now, I bring all of this together as a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula.

What I believe about birth

Women have assisted with birth since the beginning of time and yet I know there will never be another birth like the one before me. I hold high importance on consent, information transparency, safety, calm decision making, and creating a grounded environment. I believe that birth is a portal - a complete transformation of body, mind, and soul. My goal is to walk alongside each individual’s journey. To help navigate questions, hold space for emotions, be a reassuring presence, offer comforting techniques, and encouragement in trusting the body and instincts.

My Approach to Care

My approach is centered around each client’s specific needs. The core always being presence, love and heartfelt care of the entire family. No matter what, my intention is always the same: to help women feel deeply cared for, safe in their bodies, confident/informed in their decisions, and supported as they are reborn into a forever changed version of themselves. It is my purpose and life’s joy to co-create spaces and moments where women can soften, be held, and return home to the wild intuitive women within.

what my clients are saying

I'm a first time mother who didn't have a lot of baby experience prior to having one of my own. Mia was a great help in learning more about my baby's cues (hungry, gas, tired, etc). She has a very calming presence and is extremely intuitive when it comes to babies. She was excellent at calming our new little one when she was upset and gave us many tools to feel more comfortable as new parents. We worked on creating a bed time routine to help with day/night confusion and talked about techniques to calm her down during her "witching hour". Mia is also a wonderful chef and made some very nutritious and delicious meals that we could easily reheat. She allowed us to get some much needed sleep by taking a night time shift with the baby and a day time shift gave us time to get some house chores done like grocery shopping. Due to Mia's professionalism and proficiency with handling babies we felt completely comfortable leaving our newborn in her capable hands. I highly recommend Mia's services for any new parents or even repeat parents who are looking for some extra help juggling everything!
